It is a blessing and a privilege to partner with individuals and families through the counseling process. I know because I have been blessed to have individuals in my life journey, nurturing me as an individual, spouse, and parent. On a personal note, I am a woman of strong faith, which is foundational to my life and calling. I have been raising children for over 30 years and it has been a challenging and wonderful experience! I have also been a single-parent. I received a Master of Counseling and Psychology from University of West Alabama, and a Master of Theology from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. I am an empty nester enjoying what the second half of my life brings me as I continue to learn, expand and grow, as an individual, as a family member, as a friend.

My clinical experience includes working with children, teens, adults and families. Some of the orientations I work from include Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Rational Cognitive Behavior Therapy (RCBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy, (ACT), Eye Movement, Desensitization & Reprocessing, (EMDR), Solution Brief, and Parent Coaching to name a few. These frameworks allow me to work with clients young and not so young in areas of anxiety, mood/depression, transition, oppositional defiance, identity, grief/loss, trauma, social skills, ADHD, neurodivergence, separation/divorce, medical transitions, communication deficits, motivation, life direction/cross roads, meaning, spirituality as it pertains to Christianity.

Besides working in private practice, I invested a year full-time at Blumenthal Cancer Center and a couple of years in community counseling. Prior to these professional experiences, I served in the ministry working with refugee families transitioning to Charlotte, assisted single female parents in need and most importantly was a stay-at- home mom raising three awesome kids.
